CHELESTER 18A
Technical Information
CHELESTER 18A is an organophosphonic acid and corrosion inhibitor. It is widely used as
scale inhibitor, deflocculant, sequestrates and water stabilizer in cooling water systems. It has a
greater pH value and is even stable under high temperature. It is a highly effective chelating
agent and sequestering agent.

pH : 1.5-3.5

FEATURES
1. It can chelate with Fe, Cu, and Zn ions to form stable chelating compounds.
2. It can dissolve the oxidized materials on these metals surfaces.
3. It shows excellent scale and corrosion inhibition effects under temperature 250 ºC.
4. It has good chemical stability under high pH value, hard to be hydrolyzed, and hard to be
decomposed under ordinary light and heat conditions.
5. It can react with metal ions in water system to form hexa-element chelating complex, with
calcium ion in particular.
6. It has good ant scale and visible threshold effects.
APPLICATIONS
1. It is used in low pressure boiler, oil field water pipelines as scale and corrosion inhibition.
2. It is used in dyeing industry as peroxide stabilizer and dye-fixing agent.
3. It is used in cyanide-free electroplating industry complexing agent.
4. It is used in the textile industry, used as metal and non-metallic cleaning agent.
5. Multifunctional and cost effective performance makes it an excellent replacement to other
sequestrants e.g EDTA, DTPA, NTA, Metaclaw, Trilon, Versene, Dissolvine, Dequest, Codex,
Sequacel, Acinol etc.
